Potential Chemical Release Prime Suspect in Cause of Death and Injuries
At an elementary school in Plymouth, MA, an employee, Chester Flattery, was found dead at 8 AM on Tuesday after having been at work for an hour. The authorities were called and came to investigate the situation. The responders entered the building and then became sick, having headaches and showing other signs of irritation, and also said to have smelled an odor. Three firefighters, three police officers, two paramedics, two state troopers, and one school employee were sent to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth based on their symptoms which showed signs of chemical exposure. The building was evacuated, and the investigation to figure out the cause of death of Chester Flattery, as well as the cause of the illnesses of the responders and employee, continues. It’s a sad situation for the community. Chester “Chet” Flattery was well-liked, and known to be a good husband and father. Analysis will be continued and further information will be released which should help us mitigate the probability of a tragedy like this occurring in the future, but our thoughts are with the Flattery family and the Plymouth community now.
