Whether you only have a couple of drums that need to be stored, or if you require a large amount of space for multiple types of hazardous materials, US Hazmat Rentals can provide you with safe storage solutions. We can deliver as little as a Single 55 gallon barrel storage locker, and as much as 52, 55 gallon drums storage capacity in a single unit.
When storing hazardous or flammable chemicals, safety is priority number one. We are confident that our buildings will provide ultimate security for you and your employees. Despite this fact, there are always extra steps that you can take to ensure that your hazardous materials are being stored as carefully as possible. Aside from regular housekeeping and industrial maintenance, here are a few things that you can do for added safety:
US Hazmat Rentals’ Safe Storage Tips
- Some hazardous materials cannot come into contact with other organic substances (food, water, and other dangerous chemicals). Always be sure to store incompatible materials separately.
- Use fire rated buildings to store flammable chemicals. US Hazmat Rentals offers a wide variety of buildings that are two hour fire rated or four hour fire rated for protection from intense flame.
- When storing combustible material, ensure all components are explosion proof, such as lighting, climate control, and fire suppression systems for improved safety, compliance and performance.
- Double check that climate control and ventilation systems are active to provide clean air for the inside of the storage unit.
- Always store chemical inventory away from any entrances or exits.
- Create an Emergency Response Plan in case of a possible incident.
In addition to these safety tips, always be sure to follow your local laws and regulations regarding safe storage of hazardous chemicals.
- Always have Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) available for all of the chemicals being stored
- Certain chemicals, when being stored above a certain amount, must be reported to designated officials. Know your chemicals!
