“7 people exposed to unknown substance at CSU”
A chemical if improperly stored has the potential to cause great harm.
It was reported by Ventura County Star News on September 29th, 2015 that a chemical spill had caused harm to seven people on the California State University campus. According to VCS News the lab in Aliso Hall stored their chemicals in a refrigerator. There were “two containers, one that was rusty and another that had a leak but was resealed”. Thankfully no one was seriously injured or had to be taken to the hospital. This incident could have been prevented if the chemicals had been stored in a proper facility.
Hazardous chemicals should not be kept in a standard kitchen refrigerator but in a sealed tight, temperature controlled, dry environment. U.S. Hazmat buildings have just the solution. Our building come in different sizes to suit various hazardous material storage needs.
U.S. Hazmat Chemical storage buildings are equipped with proper storage needs for countless flammable and combustible chemicals. Our storage units include explosion-proof ventilation, lighting, and electrical components. The container itself must be stored away from oxidizing materials and inside approved flammable containers before storing inside a chemical storage building. Containers must always be grounded before transferring chemicals.
