Unfortunately, the petrochemical company has found itself in hot water once again. On Thursday, January 19th, a hydrogen-sulfide leak occurred at Shell Canada’s 75,000 barrel/day refinery in Corunna, Ontario. The company has surmised that the leak forced an unspecified emergency shutdown and that there were no injuries due to the incident. The company is working on a plan to restart the facility following repairs. There have been no updates as to any possible fines or penalties that Shell could as a result of their second chemical leak in just one month.
