Transportation and Mobility
Our hazmat storage lockers are designed to be quickly deployed to your active job site. That’s because we understand the need for fast service, when you have a chemical inventory on-hand that you need to store. Each rental unit can be moved by crane via roof lifting lugs or by forklift via an open floor support system designed for stable fork connection. It’s important to note our units are not designed for the storage of materials in transit—only on-site.
For Transportation by Crane
To ensure the safe transportation of your rental unit to your work site, the structural roof system of each unit comprises noncombustible, weatherproof construction of continuously welded 12 gauge steel. The roof is engineered for durability; it is fabricated from 3.5” x 3.5” x 1/8” structural steel or mechanical tubing. The unit’s roof supports are installed 24” on center. To ensure the total safety of the rental unit, and your chemical inventory once on-site, the exterior roof sheets are continuously welded to the roof supports at each seam—we’ve taken steps to maintain our storage lockers’ durability throughout the transportation process. All the framing members are mechanical or structural tubing, ensuring a powerfully-constructed product for your use. Look for the 25,000 lb. ea. certified weight-stamped roof-lifting lugs, on at each corner of your rental unit, for transportation by crane. These units are designed for simple crane-operated transportation.
For Transportation by Forklift
Our structural foundation system features open channel construction, the underside of which is coated with chemical-resistant coal tar for maximum corrosion resistance. Transporting it by forklift is a simple process, as the structural foundation also features forklift pockets and hold-down rackets for easy off-loading and relocation, should you need to reconfigure your chemical storage area. While the building base framing is capable of withstanding 1000 pounds per square foot minimum, it is important to realize that our units are not designed for storing materials in transit. Our lockers are engineered for quick deployment and are designed to be transported to your desired site. Each container is clearly marked with its empty weight and center of gravity, helping contribute to the safety of your team as the unit is being transported.
