The CS1008 is an above-ground steel tornado shelter (8' x 10') for up to 26 persons Maximum Occupancy (16 at design occupancy), anchored to an engineered concrete slab for permanent placement. It has one storm-rated door and 80 sq ft of protected floor area. Designed to FEMA P-361 and ICC 500 criteria for EF-5 tornadoes (250 mph winds).

Do tornado shelters need a concrete slab?

Only the Concrete Slab Install. The Mobile Base (No Concrete) shelter sits on its own steel base with no pour.

How many doors does a shelter have?

8x10 through 10x20 shelters have one storm-rated door; 8x30 and larger have two.

What standards are the shelters built to?
